In November 1999, the first joint venture for switchgear and circuit breakers was established in China, as an extention of GE’s switchgear operations from Burlington, Iowa. Over the past 25+ years, this operation has grown into a major Center of Excellence for GE’s industrial equipment and circuit breakers. It was named as GE Global Star.
In December 2019, the original product lines were rebranded under GEIS and AEG in China, marking the beginning of a new chapter in the business.
