GE’s China Journey:

•   In 1994 SGD became a Co-production partner of GE, manufacturing GE Power/Vac Switchgear in Shanghai through a technology license agreement. Later in 1998 SGD licensed SEV/SEK LV

Switchgear (the previous AEG platform).

•   In 2000 acquired 40% of SGD and 60% in 2 years, formed EJV. EJV design and build MV Switchgear, LV Switchgear,and Cast Coil Transformer.

•   In 2000 CJV was established, to localized GE’s IEC medium voltage vacuum circuit breaker, and transferred the M-PACT ACB production line from GE Liverpool facility to Shanghai.

•   In 2002, GE set up its China Design Center (CDC) to build its R&D resource to support localization,and global NPI activities.

   In 2009, DJV was Establish, to localize GE’s Record Plus MCCB and eRCBO. Also in 2009, GE brought AEG brand back to China.GE sale its LV product under both GE and AEG brands.

•   Since 2000, EJV became the center of excellence for Cast Coil Transformer. The WaveCast transformer were sold in all GE channels include US, Europe. WaveCast is tested to IEC and IEEE by KEMA.
•   In 2013, GE completed it Global ACB development at CJV. EntelliGuard ACB became the 1st product meet all standards cross all countries. Besides the complete ACB, CJV also serves “White Goods” to GE US and Europe facilities.
•   In 2014, Medium Voltage IEC range SecoVac and SecoGear were developed at CJV and EJV to serve the international market; in 2016, SecoVac and SecoGear extended to IEEE standard, products sold to US market.
