GEIS Delivers Medium-Voltage Soft Starter Systems to PT Pertamina Hulu Rokan

2026-03-19 15:48

Indonesia, March 19th, 2026 – GEIS has successfully delivered medium-voltage (MV) soft starter systems to PT Pertamina Hulu Rokan (PHR) for the Rokan South Area Gathering Station (GS) Upgrade Project, reinforcing reliable motor control for critical oil and gas production operations.

As part of the project scope, GEIS supplied seven 4.16 kV SecoGear MCC medium-voltage soft starter units, primarily supporting high-pressure water injection pumps with ratings ranging from 1,350 HP to 2,000 HP. These systems are designed to enable smooth motor starting and stopping, while significantly reducing inrush current and mechanical stress on equipment.

The delivered solution features GEIS’s SecoGear MCC medium-voltage soft starter platform, an advanced and integrated system engineered for high-performance motor control in demanding industrial environments. Powered by a high-performance processor, the system allows for centralized control and monitoring, ensuring stable and efficient operation across critical assets.

Each unit incorporates a compact, all-in-one design, integrating soft start, protection, and bypass functions within a single enclosure. The system is equipped with SecoVac vacuum circuit breakers and contactors, providing enhanced operational safety, reliability, and switching performance.

PT Pertamina Hulu Rokan (PHR) is the upstream subsidiary of Pertamina responsible for operating the strategic Rokan Block in Sumatra, one of Indonesia’s largest oil-producing regions.

The successful delivery of this project highlights GEIS’s capability to provide tailored medium-voltage motor control solutions for the oil and gas sector, supporting customers in improving operational efficiency, reducing equipment stress, and extending asset life.
